It is hard to believe that May is half-over and summer underway. Time has been flying by and I have both good and not-so-good news to report.
The October 5th weekend at Kukaklek Lake Culture Camp was the fall highlight for 5 students, 5 elders, 5 chaperones from Igiugig Village and 2 researchers with the University of Alaska Fairbanks DEER STUDY http://www.uaf.edu/deer/.
The summer may have been a slow, chilly start, but activity has really ramped up this fall. The Igiugig Barge Landing Road was finally approved after three years of right-of-way issues. All of the work is already completed in a few weeks!
