Build A Better World, this year’s Summer Reading Club theme, kicked off on Friday, May 19, 2017. As usual, there are five age categories: 0-3, 4-6, 7-11, 12-18, and 19-on up. The same rules apply, as they do every year. Once you have completed a book, you will write the Title, Author, # of pages, and favorite character and turn in your information every Tuesday at the library from 1-2 PM. Parents/Guardian for children ages 0-kindergarten were given the option to use bookmarks which say “READ” with 20 punch holes. Instead of logging in the information, which can be very time consuming, they will punch a hole in the bookmark and bring to the library as a reading log. This year, only locals can participate in the event.

Last year, we were 200 books shy of earning a banana split party, so let’s work together & encourage reading so we could surpass 2,000 books! If you have yet to sign up, please swing by the library to do so, as well as return old books & pick up new ones. The Battle Books have arrived & at least one for every age group is logged into the computer system & ready to check out. The summer library hours are Monday-Friday from 1:00-2:00 PM & from 4:00-5:00 PM and on Saturdays from 5:00-7:00 PM.
